Mainstreet Mexico is a community-driven organization dedicated to strengthening downtown Mexico, Missouri. Through local partnerships, events, and strategic revitalization efforts, we work to preserve The Square's character while creating a vibrant, welcoming destination for businesses, residents, and visitors.

Downtown Mexico has always been the heart of our community, and Mainstreet Mexico exists to keep it thriving.

We collaborate with business owners, property owners, volunteers, city leaders, and residents to enhance the economic vitality, appearance, and experience of our historic downtown district. From community events to beautification projects, our focus is on creating a downtown that people are proud of and excited to support.

Moonlight Madness – Thursday, October 29



Get ready for a fun-filled afternoon and evening in Downtown Mexico! Moonlight Madness returns Thursday, October 29, from 3:30–8:00 PM, bringing together Halloween fun, downtown shopping, activities, and special deals for the whole community.

Bring the kids downtown for trick-or-treating at participating businesses from

3:30–6:00 PM, along with pumpkin painting, games, cookies, and Halloween photos. A Sensory Friendly Hour from 3:30–4:30 PM will offer a quieter experience with no music or flashing lights, fewer crowds, and non-food treats.

The fun doesn’t stop when trick-or-treating ends! Participating downtown businesses will be offering evening sales and special deals until 8:00 PM,

making it a great night to shop local, explore downtown, and support Mexico’s

small businesses.

Witches Just Want to Have Fun – 2026

Grab your witch’s hat and gather your friends for an afternoon of shopping, sipping, and Halloween fun in Mexico!

Witches Just Want to Have Fun returns on Saturday, October 17, from 2:00–6:00 PM. This adults-only event (21+) invites you to visit participating local businesses, decorate your complimentary witch’s hat, enter drawings for gift baskets, and enjoy a little Halloween magic along the way.

Tickets are $10 and include a complimentary witch’s hat, embellishments available at participating businesses, entry into gift basket drawings, and participation in the Costume Contest at 6:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased at The Pearl, Jason’s Top Shelf, or the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce.

Come dressed for the occasion, bring your friends, and spend the afternoon supporting local businesses while having a wickedly good time!
